Donnie's 2nd 4 cyc race at FMS

Donnie's 2nd race with the stock 4's, was quit different from the first. This time 22 car's started the field. Many were Summerville boys that came to race. Donnie started in the first heart race and did really well, he had to get use to the new set up and said the car did not feel right. The second heat many car's crashed in turn one and Donnie watched very close at what could happen if you dont listen to your spotter. Donnie started in the back, a choice him and his Dad and crew chief DJ made. "I need more seat time before I start in the front, and need to get all the bugs worked out the car". With all the car's the track got fast, quick. There were several cautions and Donnie got through them with no problem. He did get lapped a few times and felt a shaking in the car. He did make to to the checkered flag and while coming back around to come in, his tire came off. "I hear a ping, thought nothing of it, then I seen a tire roll by me". Laughing Donnie said " I said is that my tire, and the car slammed on the ground Yep it's mine". I didn't panic, I was calling on the radio but no one was there, But Mr. Richard Barnhill was, he came over checked everything out, and sit with me till the tow truck came to get me. "kinda fun". Donnie did finish 13th. Pretty good for 22 car's. He finished, didn't mess the car up, and had a blast. Donnie's # 1 fan and best buddy Mr. Michael Elliott was there. He give Donnie some great advice and words of wisdom before the race. Michael is a really great guy, if you never have talked to him, just walk up and strike up a chat. You will see why he is on Donnie's hero list. Michael finished 2nd. Donnie will be off next week, due to Danny Efland's NASCAR BUSH RACE. Don't forget to watch it! Good Luck Danny! Donnie great job.
